"O send out your light and your truth--let them guide me." (Psalm 43:3)
In the "March of the Penguins," the Penguin Dad makes sure his young penguin knows the sound of his voice. For when he returns that is what the young one will respond to in order for his Dad to find him among all the other penguins. He will respond to his Daddy's voice and his voice alone. Each voice is unique and will only qualify when there is a match in tones.
In the movie "Double Jeopardy" it is stated that every child knows its mother's voice and will not forget it even if the mother and child are separated for a long period of time.
I find it extraordinarily amazing that the God of the universe calls each star by its name (Psa. 147:4). Man has named some of the stars, but God has named them all!
Even more amazing the Bible tells me in John 10:3 that He knows my name! It is beyond my comprehension that the great God--the Eternal God--the One who holds everything together by the word of His power--this same God knows my name! He cares enough about me that His thoughts about me are like the sands of the seashore. (Psalm 139:17) When you are down and think nobody cares, remember--God knows your name.
If you don't know this God, call upon His name (Rom. 10:13) and then He will know your name as well.
